LAB SAFETY

HOW TO BE SAFE IN THE LAB (MOST OF THE TIME)

READ THE WHOLE LAB BEFORE YOU START

DONT SCREW AROUND AND/OR DO STUPID THINGS.

IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT SOMETHING, ASK THE TEACHER

REPORT ALL ACCIDENTS TO THE TEACHER

STABBY THINGS FACE THE FLOOR.

DO NOT PUT STUFF IN YOUR MOUTH UNLESS TOLD.

KNOW WHERE ALL SAFETY STUFF IS IN THE LAB.

  • IF equipment breaks, tell the teacher.
  • I couldnt find a decent picture so here's a broken cookie

  • CHeck all cords for damage before use
  • Also if you dont know to keep electrics dry,
  • GO BACK TO FIRST grade.

  • Secure all baggy clothes and long hair
  • Unless you want a flaming ponytail of course.

IF IT CAN HURT YOU, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES.

MIX CHEMICALS ONLY IN THE ORDER TOLD.

ADD ACID LAST.

ONLY SMELL CHEMICALS BY WAFTING TOWARDS YOU

EVERYTHING MUST BE ACCOUNTED FOR AT THE END OF THE LAB.

IF YOU GET CHEMICALS ON YOU, FLUSH FOR -MINIMUM- 20 MINUTES

KEEP YOUR LAB AREA TIDY

DISPOSE OF EVERYTHING PROPERLY.

SOLID RUBBISH GOES IN THE BIN

BROKEN GLASS, SHARPS CONTAINER. 2+2=4

WASH ALL EQUIPMENT AFTER A LAB

WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER ANY LAB.
