FACTS
Lake Taupō is the biggest lake in new zealand.
The volcano exploded out pumice and ash 200 metres deep.
The eruption happened 70,000 years ago.
The first eruption was 300,000 years ago.
The volcano is 30 kilometres wide.

Did you know red sky occours after a volcano erupts.
You can still see the white ash as far east as the chatham islands.
The latest eruption occurred in around 200 AD.
The explotion emptied the lake and the ash covered 20,000 square kilometres.
