WHAT IS IT?

  • Land pollution is the destruction of earths land surfaces
  • "It is bad," said every scientist.
  • Land pollution can be harmful in many dofferent situations.

HOW IS IT MEASURED

  • Land pollution is measured by how much trash there is.
  • It is also measured by the acidity of the trash
  • The acidity of the trash is measured by pH

THE MEASUREMENT OF POLLUTANTS/EXAMPLES

  • One example of the pollutants found in land pollution is various kinds of rubbish
  • Paper, bottles and cans, used cars, and broken goods are found in trash
  • Other biodegradable objects are found in trash such as apples, orange peels and bananas.

ITS EFFECT

  • One effect of land pollution is bad odor
  • Another effect is that it can harm humans
  • Land pollution also takes up space on Earth

OTHER PROBLEMS

  • Another problem is that it harms the human respiratory system
  • Also, land pollution can cause many different types of cancer
  • It also causes problems on the human skin.

INDIVIDUAL, COMMUNITY, AND NATIONAL SOLUTIONS

  • An individual solution is to reduce, reuse, recycle the trash they use up
  • A community solution is organized recycling of the community's trash
  • A national solution is to reduce the use of harmful products to the environment

  • America generates 251 million tons of garbage per year
  • The amount of trash buried in landfills has doubled since 1960
  • The United Kingdom buries about 90% of its solid waste in landfills
