GRASSLANDS

  • Grasslands are formed when something destroys an ecosystem that after a long period of time it either reverts back to it's old,state or it becomes a grassland
  • Grass lands often give us homes for farming or just relaxation most notables during the western frontier due to its wide space
  • They also provide hidden resources such as water or fossil fuels the former of which is important for survival

  • Glaciers are formed when fallen snow compresses after long periods of time
  • People have placed dams in front of glaciers to gather hydroelectric energy from melted ice
  • A city in Bolivia relies on melted glacier ice from a nearby ice cap

  • Mountains are formed when tectonic plates combine and start moving upward eventually forming a mountain

  • Valleys are typically formed when a river dries out and the erosion has formed a valley or from a fault in plates
  • People who live in valleys typically get plenty of shade
  • They could also get earthquakes if the valley is formed from a fault

OASIS

  • Oasis are formed when areas with low elevation in the dessert receive water causing a spring and plant life
  • It makes life in the dessert sustainable for pioneers and people stranded for some odd reason
  • Desserts cities get some water from Oasis

RIVER

  • Rivers are formed when water from a mountain picks up more water and eventually erodes the land greatly
  • Cities nearby may use the river as a water supply
  • Some cities are even on water such as Venice, Italy

  • Deltas are formed when sediment is deposited at the mouth of a river
  • Deltas can contaminate water supply
  • The soil is fertile and good for agriculture

  • Islands often give people more land to claim and settle on
  • Due to being near the sea islands are usually a good fishing spot

  • Volcanoes are formed when plate runs under another the bottom one heats up an forms lava and it builds up until it's formed
  • Volcanoes are typically seen as very deadly with their eruptions destroying property and even killing
  • Once the lava from eruption has cooled if could create new land after a period of time

  • Several cities are near or on coastlines
  • They are treated as excellent spots to fish or trade
