Valley: an elongated lowland between mountains
ex. Swat Valley in Pakistan
Plain- an large area of extremely flat land
ex. most of Kansas
Reef- a ridge beneath the surface of the water
ex. The Great Barrier Reef
Plateau- a high, flat land
ex. The Colorado Plateau
Island- an isolated, small landform in the ocean
ex. Hawaii
River- a fast moving body of water that leads to an ocean
ex. Kansas River
Lake- a natural body of water inside a landmass
ex. Shawnee Lake
Mountain- a tall hill on a landmass caused by a convergent boundary
ex. Pike's Peak
Strait- a narrow waterway that connects yo larger bodies
ex. Strait of Gibraltar
Peninsula- a piece of land with water on 3/4 sides
ex. Florida
Isthmus- the land version of a strait
ex. Isthmus of Panama
Archipelago- a group of islands
ex. Hawaii
Canyon- a cut through a mountain made by erosion
ex. Grand Canyon
Delta- a landmass formed at a river mouth
ex. Sacramento Delta
Gulf- a body of water surrounded on 3/4 sides by land
ex. Gulf of Mexico
