Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes was born in 1902 of February 1st.

Hughes was cared for by his grandmother, since his dad left his family from the racial discrimination.

His mother had to work, too, so he never saw her a lot.

His grandmother told him many stories that made him proud to be African American.

He dropped out of school in university, because of racial discrimination.

One poem I picked was Justice. It was a whole metaphor for a case with African-Americans being wrongfully accused of a crime.

The style that he had was something called jazz poetry.

Hughes was one of the pioneers of this type of poetry, making the music like a song, with rhythm.
