EXTERIOR

MATERIALS

  • Steel and wood for optimal flexibility
  • No stone
  • Plexiglass to optimize safety

FOUNDATION

  • Built on a bed of igneous rock to lessen the amplification of seismic waves
  • Diagonal trusses at the base of the building to protect it from horizontal and vertical forces
  • Reinforced concrete

STRUCTURE

  • Tall to sway and absorb the shock
  • Staircase and elevators are located in the center to change the central mass
  • Core of the building is built separate from an exterior steel frame to lessen the impact of swaying
  • Dampers to absorb shock and swaying

INTERIOR

FURNITURE

  • All furniture is bolted down
  • All furniture is soft so it won't hurt people if an earthquake occurs
  • Earthquake safe furniture
  • Sharp edges are very limited

EQUIPMENT STORAGE

  • Keep all weapons locked in a gun safe and secured inside. Bolt safe to wall.
  • Lockers are bolted down
  • All medical supplies are in bolted down cabinets

KITCHEN

  • Knives are in a special drawer
  • Pans are in a special bolted down drawer
  • Nothing is hanging
  • Women remain in the kitchen at all times
