Physical Features and Location
Mexican Plateau. Although this is the least well known of the landforms in Mexico, the Mexican Plateau is famous within the country. It is located between the Sierra Madre Mountains, in the center of the country. The plateau receives a large amount of rain, and because volcanoes surround it, has very fertile soil.

Mexico has nearly 150 rivers, two-thirds of which empty into the Pacific Ocean and the remainder of which flow into the Gulf of Mexico or the Caribbean Sea. Situated atop three of the large tectonic plates that constitute the Earth's surface, Mexico is one of the most seismologically active regions on earth. The motion of these plates causes earthquakes and volcanic activity. This effects the population drastically because the people who live nearby are affected because they are in danger of dying.

Natural Resources
Pemex, the public company in charge of exploration, extraction, transportation and marketing of crude oil and natural gas, as well as the refining and distribution of petroleum products and petrochemicals, is one of the largest companies in the world by revenue, making US $86 billion in sales a year.

Their Currency exchange rate is 12.74 MXN per US$1 (03/03/2010).

Economy
The economy of Mexico is the 14th largest in the world in nominal terms and the 10th largest by purchasing power parity, according to the IMF. Among the most important industrial manufacturers in Mexico is the automotive industry. Mexico's main natural resource is crude oil. The two main trade countries are: United States,90.9%. Canada, 2.2%. Mexico's main currency is the Peso.

Government
The United Mexican States are a federation whose government is representative, democratic and republican. The federal Congress, as well as the state legislatures, are elected by a system of parallel voting that includes plurality and proportional representation. The Senate is made up of 128 senators. Of these, 64 senators (two for each state and two for the Federal District) are elected by plurality vote in pairs; 32 senators are the first minority or first-runner up (one for each state and one for the Federal District), and 32 are elected by proportional representation from national closed party lists. Enrique Peña Nieto is the current president of Mexico. Citizens in Mexico have many freedoms, they also have the right to vote. The Mexican flag is shown in the background.

Culture
The beginning of the Mexican revolution(the most historical event) started like this; President Díaz announced in 1908 that he would retire in 1911, resulting in the development of new coalitions. But then he ran for reelection anyway and in a show of U.S. support, Díaz and William Howard Taft planned a summit in El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, for October 16, 1909, an historic first meeting between a Mexican and a U.S. president and also the first time an American president would cross the border into Mexico. Spanish and Portuguese are the two most common languages spoken in Mexico. The most common ethnic group in Mexico is Roman Catholicism. Mexico City hosted the XIX Olympic Games in 1968, making it the first Latin American city to do so.

The country has also hosted the FIFA World Cup twice, in 1970 and 1986. Mexican cuisine is known for its intense and varied flavors, colorful decoration, and variety of spices. Most of today's Mexican food is based on pre-Columbian traditions, including Aztec and Maya, combined with culinary trends introduced by Spanish colonists.
