LATIN AMERICA

MAJOR LANGUAGES

  • The two major languages are Spanish and Portuguese
  • They are the main spoken in all the countries within the region.

GOVERNMENT

  • Latin America is made up of several different countries
  • means that there are several different types of government
  • for each. For example, Mexico has a federal government
  • The people enjoy rights like those in North America, but inequality is
  • a big part in the region

RELIGION

  • The main religion in Latin America is Christianity
  • The majority of the region are under the main branch of Christianity
  • which is what they have in common. They are in some way Christian.

URBAN/RURAL

  • A majority of the population lives in the urban area. A lot of
  • people are living on the streets as well.
  • People's homes depend on what their social classes are. It
  • could range from top notch dinners to struggling to find something
  • to eat on the streets for the night

FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Their families are organized in different way. For example they may
  • be a very close tight nit family or not so much
  • Due to the poverty issues, lots of kids are kicked out of their houses
  • and live on the street.

SOCIAL STRUCTURE/WEALTH

  • The people vary from the richest man in the world to people who
  • don't even have clean water. All of the rich live together in a
  • gated community while poor are on the streets

FASHION, LITERATURE, ART, AND MUSIC

  • Latin America uses American customs like music such as pop,blues,jazz and rhythm
  • Latin America also has indigenous cultures, western civilization, and African culture
  • Some important artist include Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo,and Fernado Bontaro.

EDUCATION

  • Education access and school completion remains unequal in Latin America.
  • Quality issues such as poor teaching methods,lack of appropriate equipment,and
  • overcrowding existed throughout the region

LAND USE

  • The poor and rich people are separated with the rich usually living in gated communities
  • Most people use the land for agriculture benefits

TRADING NETWORKS

  • Groups and organizations are made to help trade and receive trades from all over the world
  • Latin America is more of an agriculture based place meaning they grow most of the crops the trade

DIVERSITY

  • Some minority groups include Asians,Blacks,and other.
  • Hispanics heavily populate this region
  • Women and men rights are mainly not equal. Women are looked down on as lesser then men.
