SOCIAL STRUCTURE/ WEALTH

  • Amerindian-Spanish and White are the most common social groups in Latin America
  • There is little poverty, but not a lot of wealthy people in Latin America.

FASHION, LITERATURE, ART AND MUSIC

  • Art is one of the main influences in Latin America
  • Some of the most important artist in the region are Julio Cortazar who wrote the famous book Rayuela, Joaquin Torres Garcia, and Manuel Rendon.

Education

  • Parents send their kids to school for 14 years to learn
  • Children learn English, Reading, Writing, Math, History and Science in school

Land Use

  • People buy their own land to later build their houses on it
  • Land is mostly used for farming and manufacturing

Trading Networks

  • Countries in Latin America have free trade agreements with over 50 countries
  • The items they trade with those outside of their region are manufactured goods, oil, silver, fruits, vegetables and cotton

Diversity

  • The main minor groups in Latin America are Europeans and Asians
  • Men and women are treated equally, but men are usually the providers and woman stay home.

LANGUAGES

  • The major languages are Spanish and Portuguese.

GOVERNMENT

  • Their forms of government are presidential, constitutional, and parliamentary.
  • From research (lot of human rights movements) the region doesn't have a lot of rights.

RELIGIOUS/BELIEF SYSTEM

  • They are mostly Roman Catholic.
  • They believe Jesus is a part of God and that there are saints.

URBAN/RURAL

  • Most people live in towns.
  • The homes are very close together.

FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

  • People have medium sized families.
  • Some of them live with extended family.
