EMERGENT LAYER

  • It receives bright sunlight and plenty of rain.
  • The tallest trees rise up to 230ft.
  • Animals like monkeys, harpy eagles, morph butterflies and scarlet macaw live there.

CANOPY LAYER

  • This layer also receives plenty sunlight and refreshing breeze.
  • It is filled with fruits and nuts a year.
  • Animals like the two-toed sloth, emerald tree boa and the green iguana live there.

UNDERSTOREY LAYER

  • It is a warm, damp and sheltered layer.
  • The plants provide food and shelter for small animals and birds.
  • Animals like the greater bulldog bat, golden tree boa, red eyed tree frog and Jaguar live there.

FOREST LAYER

  • This is the lowest layer.
  • It is dark, hot, hot and damp.
  • Animals like leaf-cutter ant, Goliath bird-eater and Colombian cup fungi like there.
