Remember when we as kids used to try and answer every question we could. When learning was "cool"

What is stopping us from learning?

How did we lost that spirit of learning?
What happened between us being the kid with the hand up to now?

Why don't we learn and take the opportunity to get better as a daily habit?

I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught.  -Winston Churchill

The biggest opportunity to learn is chance, if you walk into a room of people playing card game you don’t know and you leave the room because of it instead of sitting down and asking how the game goes then you have wasted an opportunity to learn. Same with anything else, we encounter different opportunities each day to learn something new, we just need to get better at taking advantage of that.

People are often worried about looking stupid if they don’t know something so that they mask and pretend like they do, which in essence is the real act of stupidity because they wasted the opportunity to ask questions and learn.

We are all walking libraries. It is not only important to ask what else we want to add to our library (when it comes to learning), but as important to recognize what we already have in it.

The other side of this story is the understanding that we all have something to contribute to someone else's learning.

We need to recognize that we all have a vast experience of knowledge, skills and abilities that no matter how much we take for granted, others wish they had.

What now moment...

Our time in the student community is limited. How do we make the most of it and apply this attitude to our own communities

- As leaders we need to show interest in each other
- being open about our own limitations
- rewarding effort and "culture of sharing"
- "organic learning"
