History

  • The first people in Canada were the natives. The native groups spread across the country and they established languages, religious beliefs, laws and government.
  • A lot of different immigrants from different counntries such as Germany, Ukraine, Greece and many more countries have immigrated to Canada.
  • in 1971 Canada became the first country in the world the have an official policy on multiculturalism.

Geography

  • Hudson Bay, the Great Lakes and many more fresh water lakes and rivers make a large portion of Canadas area.
  • Trees cover almost half of Canada, when they are cut down they are used for lumber building.
  • Some of Canada's industries depend on the countries natural resources like natural gas and other.
  • Paper and pulp manufacturing are one of Canadas largest industries.

Economics

  • Canadas money is called Looneys.
  • Canada is one of the worlds welthiest nations.
  • Canada is the 13th largest exporter in the world
  • More than 70% of people in Canada have jobs in the service industry.
  • Many large economies struggle with such a large government, Canada is doing well with paying attention to controlling the size of the government.

Government

  • The prime minister is the Head of Government and sits in the House of Commons.
  • The Canadian government wants all of theyre workers to speak French and English.
  • Canadian parliament buildings and government are located in Ottowa.
  • Canada was once under the british rule and was a colony.

Civics

  • You have to be over 18 years of age to be a citisen.
  • Also to be a citisen you have to prove that you can speak and write in at least one of Canadas official languages.
  • You have to declare that you have a plan to live in Canada to be a citisen.
  • Many Canadian provinces and territories have a civic holiday to celebrate their culture and history.
