My cursive writing has got neater than in December. I was very interested in writing in cursive because it was a challenge for me, and something new. I practiced a lot at home, and taught my younger brother, and sister how to do it. Cursive is important to me because it helps me write faster, and I like the way it looks.
Fractions to decimals is important to me because it can help me solve problems and figure out things in real life when shopping, when cooking, with money, time, test marks and many more things. For example, let's say you earned a grade 8/10 in a test which it is the same as 0.8. That tells me that I got of 80% on the test.
I have learned a few things about the ukalele, and it is fun. Playing the ukalele is important to me because it sounds nice, I enjoy practicing, it makes me feel happy and it also helps me when playing my guitar.
I enjoyed learning latitude and longitude because I found interesting how I can locate where places exactly are by using numbers, degrees, minutes and seconds on a map. It is useful when traveling or to pass information to someone else. Latitude are the parallel lines going horizontal across earth and Longitude are lines going vertically from North to South on earth. For example if I want to know how to locate the center of Australia I would look on a world map and find out that it is 135 degrees East, 23 degrees and 26 minutes South on Earth.
I choose Speech as one of my topics because I think it is very important to be able to express ideas in front of an audience, it teaches you to be more confident and secure about yourself. I have learned some tips and ways to express ideas to help me to engage an audience. It is good for me now and also in the future. I used what I have learned when I did my presentations. My second one went better that the first one because I felt more confident, I knew to speak louder, more clear, use vocal variety, speak slower so I paced my self. I tried to look more at the audience so they could hear me better. Knowing the subject of my speech very well helped me a lot with my confidence and being able to look across the crowd instead of starring at a piece of paper.
