In The Constitution,

the legislative Branch is explained in Article 1 Section 8 

Legislative Branch:

  • Every bill should be passed by the house of representatives and also by the
  • senate, before it becomes a law. Its  presented by the president, and if
  • the president veto's the law, and 2/3 of the house, in 2 days it becomes
  • a law.       Legislature Branch:  Congress and Creates Federal Statutes
  • The other part is: State Legislatures and Create State Statutes

  • To lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises
  • To pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare
  • To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the milita or for 
  • the governing

Checks and Balances

  • Confirms a rejects appointments by Executive Concluding Judgest
  • Can Veto Legislation         Appoints Judges
  • Legislative               Executive                           Judicial
  • Writes Law               Enforces Laws                   Interprets Laws
  • Can declare acts of the legislative or executive branch to be unconstitutio

Commerce Clause

  • Broad interpretations of this clauses and of the commerce clause
  • The Enumerated power to regulate Commerce
  • * In rulings such as McCulloch v Maryland
  • Art. 1 Sec.8 clause 3 give congress the power to regulate commerce
  • with foreign National and among the severe states
