WHO IS MY EXPLORER?

  • Lief was born in 980 A.D. and his dad was Erik the Red.
  • Born in Iceland.
  • They never learned to read or write.
  • Lief died in 1025 and he was about 45 years old.
  • They were called Vikings.
  • Leif’s dad got banished from Iceland to Greenland because he killed 2 men.

  • He wanted to explore because he heard stories about another Viking named Bjarni Herjolfsson and his explorations.
  • Left Greenland because it was getting too crowded.
  • Discovered Labrador.
