HABITAT

  • Mostly found in South Africa
  • Adapt to warm and cold
  • Spots provide camouflage
  • Live in bush and riverine forest

FOOD

  • Carnivores
  • Baby- fish, reptiles, small mammals
  • Adult-antelope, monkeys, warthogs

😇BEHAVIOR👿

  • Hunting- stalks prey till close enough to attack
  • Non hunting- gives a tail flip to say not hungry
  • Hunt at night
  • Solitary but avoid other animals
  • Have there own "lands" very territorial

REPRODUCTION

  • Mate all year
  • Female allow multiple males to mate with them
  • 3 week old cubs start eating small mammals
  • Cubs fur is a shady grey color
  • Litter is up to 3 cubs

  • Spots are different in different climates
  • Can grow up to be 140 pounds
  • Can grow to be 28 inches long

FACTS

  • Each animal has a home range that overlaps with its neighbors
  • Males allow females to enter there land but only for mating
  • Leopards growl and spit with a screaming roar when angry
  • Then purr when calm
