FILM ADAPTATION

  • The first film adaptation was made in 1982
  • It was directed Robert Hossein
  • It was starring Leno Ventura, Michael Boquet
  • And Évelyne Bouix

OTHER FILM ADAPTATION

  • In 1998 a film adaptation was made by Billie Aguost
  • Starring Liam Neason, Geoffrey Rush, and Uma Thurman
  • Then in 2012, Tom Hopper directed a version of Les miserable that
  • Would soon become an award winning film

MUSICAL ADAPTATION

  • Originally released as a French-language concept album in 1980
  • The first musical-stage adaptation of Les Misérables was presented at a Paris sports arena
  • However, the first production closed after three months when the booking contract expired.
  • The musical was directed by claude michel schonberg.

MUSICAL ADAPTATION

  • In 1983, about six months after producer Cameron Mackintosh had opened Cats on Broadway,
  • he received a copy of the French concept album from director Peter Farago

Plot
'Les Miserables' travels with prisoner-on-parole, 24601, Jean Valjean, as he runs from the ruthless Inspector Javert on a journey beyond the barricades, at the center of the June Rebellion. Meanwhile, the life of a working class girl with a child is at turning point as she turns to prostitution to pay money to the evil innkeeper and his wife who look after her child, Cosette. Valjean promises to take care of the child, eventually leads to a love triangle between Cosette, Marius who is a student of the rebellion, and Eponine, a girl of the streets. The people sing of their anger and Enjolras leads the students to fight upon …
