  • He was President Thomas Jefferson's Secret Secretary
  • He was born on August 18, 1774
  • He died on October 11, 1809 of  gunshot wounds
  • He was a part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition
  • He was a friend to William Clark

Who is William Clark

  • He was a friend to Meriwether Lewis
  • He was the 4th governor of the Missouri Territory 
  • He was born of August 1, 1770
  • He died on September 1, 1838
  • He was also in the Lewis and Clark Expedition

What is The Lewis and clark Expedition?

  • It is also called the Corps of  Discovery
  • It helped America by exploring the Loiusiana Purchase
  • It started from May 1804 and ended on September 1806
  • They also were finding the Northwest Passage, but it didn't exsist
  • There were 2 captains, 4 sergeants, 24 privates, 8 non-military, and 1 dog

What did they see?

  • They saw at least 72 Indian tribes
  • They saw about 200 new plants that were new to science
  • They saw the Rocky Mountains and were surprised
