Biography

  • Born in September 26th, 1874 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
  • Photographer who used his camera for social reform.

He was very known for exposing the exploiting of child labor.

Children worked at mills, mines(which are the worst jobs they can have since they didn't have much protection) factories(can be for clothes, or anything made in factories), Sea food places, etc.

He also was known for his documentation of government projects.

One of the gov't projects he did documentation of was the Empire State Building and after World War 1 he documented the red cross workers and their facilities in Europe.

Legacy:
Thanks to him and many other people, they changed child labor laws.

Died on the 3rd of November, 1940 in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
