My favored charAter is Amos McGee.
I like how she showed him sick but still loving. This makes the book more pleasing.
One of her top three books she wrote is a sick day for Amos McGee. This book uses soft images to tell a story about a sick zoo keepers friends combing to help him feel better. The images are important to make to book pleasing even tho Amos is sick.
Another top book she illustrated was bear has a story to tell. In this book she uses color to crest the scene of fall. This adds to the story of the bear wanting to tell a story before winter comes.
The last of the top three books that she wrote was if you want to see a whale. This book uses shading to show the water and grass look more realistic. Her illustrations help show how big the the whale is in comparison to the hello boat.
Erin e. Stead has won the Caldecott Medal for A Sick Day for Amos McGee. She was also named a New York Times Best Illustrated Book of 2010.
She doesn't use a lot of color in her books. Most of her books is back and white. There are some parts of the book that Are colored and it makes the book have a calming overall feel. The lack of color doesn't draw away from the book but instead Enhances to the books over all look.
Erin e stead has a webpage at http://erinstead.com. Her page is just like her books. Most of it is black and white but there are a few images. There is not a lot of information but what information is very factual. She tell about how she dose her art and about her husbands work.
