The iris is the membrane that surrounds the pupil.
The iris determines the color of you eyes.
It also controls the size of your pupil and how much light is allowed to come into your eye.
Just behind the pupil and iris is the lens which controls the focus in the back you eye.
In the back of the eye is the retina, which is made up of cells. That receive the light energy and react to its intensity by sending and impulse to the brain. Then the signals are sent to the optic nerve.
