BY: NICK AND ARISTON

THE SIN

  • “Here suffer those who did not sin, yet did not have the required portal of our faith. Their punishment
  • Is the denial of Paradise.” — Virgil
  • Basically for non-christ believers
  • The people here live in a castle with seven gates which symbolize the seven virtues
  • Equivalent to prison

LIMBO

  • The term "Limbo" derives from the Latin term "limbus" which translates to "edge" or "boundary".
  • They define it as edge because it is the first circle of hell and people here can still go to heaven
  • Virgil mentioned to Dante that Noah, Moses, David, and Abraham were in Limbo until Jesus brought them to Heaven.
  • A soul in limbo can still go to heaven once they believe there is a God
  • Other circles do not have a chance to go to heaven

PUNISHMENT

  • the infliction or imposition of a penalty as retribution for an offense.

DIVINE JUSTICE

  • kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and

DIVINE JUSTICE

  • The constant and unchanging will of God to give everyone what is
  • due him or her. Every possible form of justice is possessed by God. He practices
  • legal justice in that through the natural and moral law he co-ordinates creatures to
  • the common good; distributive justice because he gives to his creatures everything
