Research Dos:

  • Research thoroughly (use at least three resources)
  • Cite your sources
  • Use a variation of authoritative sources
  • Have specific information about your topic
  • PROOFREAD

  • Include information that does not discuss the topic
  • Turn your paper in without proofreading and editing

*Click on "Home" in the top left hand corner.

*Type the topic, title, or author's name in the LS2 field.

*If you want to request the title from another school, click on the orange "Place Hold" button.

*Enter your student ID for your Library ID. Then, enter the last four numbers of your student ID for the PIN.

*Click on "Submit Hold".

*Check the top for the green strip that will say "Hold Placed Successfully".

  • Government publications
  • Academic publications
  • Journals
  • Newspapers
  • Books
  • Magazines
  • Google Scholar
.gov = government websites

.edu = academic publications

Some websites--.org usually okay

Non-Credible:

  • Wikipedia*
  • Many websites
  • Outdated publications, journals, newspapers, books, magazines** **depends on subject
*some professors will allow you to use it to FIND resources, but you cannot quote from Wikipedia.

  • Document sources on easybib.com using MLA format.
