MAN VS. MAN

  • This is an external struggle between two or more individuals.
  • Example: In The Most Dangerous Game the conflict between Rainsford and Zaroff

MAN VS. HIMSELF

  • Internal struggle concerning emotion and decision.
  • Example: In The Hunger Games, Katniss struggles with whether to trust Peeta or not

  • External struggle between man and an element of nature.
  • Example: In Robinson Crusoe when he is stranded on an island and has to fend for himself.

  • External struggle between man and a rule or practice in society.
  • Example: In Hercules where he has a lot of courage, but is considered an outcast until he proves himself a hero.

  • Example: In Percy Jackson he must go on all the quests and defy fate though the prophecy has negative outlooks.
