  • RESIDED IN OAKLAHOMA

  • THIS IS ONLY BECAUSE THEY USUALLY WERE TOWARDS THE U.S.
  • MOST TRIBES KNEW THAT THE ARAPAHOS WERE GREAT WARRIORS
  • WERE VICTIMS OF THE FAMOUS THE SAND CREEK MASSACRE
  • INFLUX OF SETTLERS ULTIMATELY SPLIT THE ARAPAHO TRIBE IN HALF

  • THE MEN WERE HUNTERS AND WARRIORS
  • THEY WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR FEEDING AND DEFENDING THEIR FAMILY

  • BOTH GENDERS PAINTED THEIR FACES FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
  • PATTERS WERE DIFFERENT FOR EACH OCCASION

fOOD sOURCE AND DIET

  • WERE CORN FARMERS AND HUNTERS
  • ONCE THEY ACQUIRED HORSES THEY MOSTLY HUNTED
  • DIET CONSISTED OF MOSTLY MEATS LIKE BUFFALO, DEER, AND ELK
  • THEY ALSO COLLECTED CHOKECHERRIES, FRUITS, AND ROOTS
  • MEAT WAS COOKED IN PITS OR DRIED INTO JERKY
