RAPHAEL SANZIO

LIZZIE TOKAROWSKI
I researched Raphael Sanzio and his influence.

Raphael Sanzio's art influences modern times through incorporating known people in paintings and by taking ideas, reinterpreting them, and teaching them.

This is my thesis statement of raphael Sanzio's influence on us.

Raphael took ideas of others, re- interpreted them, and taught them.

Raphael influenced our times by showing us how to re interpret and teach people ideas

"His period of greatest influence was from late 17th to 19th centuries, when his perfect decorum and balance were greatly admired."

This quote explains that his influence was appreciated during periods long after his death and are still influencing today.

Raphael incorporated known people in his paintings.

This another way he influenced us because now a lot of people put people in art to pay homage to them or to embarass them

"Around them are grouped many other classical philosophers and scientists, each indicating clearly by expression and gesture the character of his intellect- yet never obtrusively, for detail is throughout subordinated the total balanced grandeur of effect."

This quote basically is describing the School of Athens painting. It is showing how he placed people in his paintings very discreetly and if you knew who was in the painting you were considered cool or "in the know"

Additional information

  • He lived from April 6, 1483 - April 6, 1520
  • He completed 78 paintings
  • He was greatly appreciated for smooth paintings
  • His whole family were artists
1. He only lived a 38 year life but he used every minute of life to create lots of art work.

2. Again he created more paintings in 38 years than some artist do in their entire life.

3. Raphael created paintings that had smooth lines and beautiful colors... He very rarely did art with drab colors

4. His father mostly influenced him to be an artist because HE STUDIED UNDER HIS FATHER LIKE A STUDENT. but his whole family were artists as well.
