PRESENTATION OUTLINE
ADAPTATION
Some of the plants are the big blue stem, the little blue stem, and indian grass, most of those plants roots can grow up to 4 meters long.
Some of the animals are coyotes, buffalo, wood peckers, and prarie dogs. The prairie dogs can build their homes under ground and protect them from predators. All that is most of the stuff that we learned in a classroom, but I can almost guarantee that we would have learned twice as much as that if we went to LLELA.
ECOZONES
Deciduous Forest/
Abiotic: fallen leaves, dirt, sticks.
Biotic:humming bird, trees, rabbits
Marsh/
Abiotic: rocks, dirt, fertilizer.
Biotic: ducks, turtles, sawgrass
Grassland/
Abiotic: dirt, rocks, decomposing bodies .
Biotic: Tall grass, indian grass, prarie dog
Erosion/
You saw alot of it on the trail, it was pretty much everywhere. Years and years of wind, rain, and gravity caused erosion. We could have had a chance to go see erosion in real life but we just spent our time destroying our eyes looking at a screen the whole day.
TROPISM
Some of the types of tropisms we saw were
Thigmotropism, thermotropism, and phototropism
RITTER CEMETERY
Only people of the ritter family could be burried their untill while longer. Then anyone could be burried their. But another bad part was that we didn't even get to go and Actually
Take the time to look at all the different graves and families.
POND 31 AND 30
Pond 31: invasive species-ph lvl: 7
Pond 30: non invasive species-ph lvl: 7
By not going to LLELA in the actual out doors we missed out on a fantastic opportunity to go and learn about our local environment. It's one thing to learn something in a classroom, but it's another thing to go out and learn about a environment in that actual environment. I can honestly say that almost every seventh grader could have been 50 percent smarter if we actually had taken the field trip.
FUN FACT
The big blue stem plant can grow up to 8 ft tall. THATS HUGE!
