  • Less nutrients are lost because it was picked days before
  • It doesn't need to be shipped... it was picked and then for sale.

IT IS GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

  • There is little to no pesticides used on the products
  • The farmers rotate there crops to ensure soil health

SOME MAY SAY: THAT THE LOCAL FOOD CHAIN DOESNT HELP THE ECONOMY

  • The money spent at the farm will most
  • likely stay in your community helping its economy
  • "Its very simple: I trust the Salatins more than I trust
  • the Wal-Mart. And I like the like the idea of keeping
  • my money right here in town."

CONCLUSION
If we keep eating in the industrial food chain everyone will be effected in someway. In the local food chain there is no pesticides used and the animals can live their lives freely.
