THE LOCAL SUSTAINABLE FOOD CHAIN DOESNT HARM THE ENVIRONMENT.

  • "The average distance our food travels is 1,500 miles...by
  • buying locally, you can conserve the energy that's used for
  • transportation [and decrease harmful pollution]."
  • "Society is not bearing the cost of water pollution, anti-biotic
  • resistance, food borne illnesses...- all the hiden costs."

Eating locally is beneficial to your health.

  • "Having a diet high in these food items offer
  • advantages[such as a decreased risk of diseases]."
  • "Food... is better when it is fresh, in season, and
  • grown without chemicals."

COUNTERCLAIM

  • Some may say that the local susatainable food chain doesn't
  • provide enough food for everyone in the world. No, not everyone lives
  • near a farm, but there are still ways to get this food, like joining
  • a buying club. "These are groups...that put together a big order
  • once or twice a month...[then one person] collects the orders."

By eating locally grown food, you aren't consuming all the chemicals and additives that are in industrial foods. Also, the environment isn't being harmed by pollution or damage to the land. You could be healthy and keep the earth healthy, too.
