THOMAS HOBBES & JHON LOCKE INTERESTING FACTS

• Hobbes was born in 1588 & was an english scholar & a philosopher
• As a tutor he had acsess to many books & traveled often & met many important thinkers
• . Locke was born in England in 1632
• He considered becoming a political a minister started his career as a docter but ended a philosopher
• He made many writings & inspired many leaders & one of those leaders was Thomas Jefferson

THOMAS HOBBES

• Hobbes beloved before gov we where in the state of nature & that we where naturally selfish
• He belived in the state of nature we where always at war & nothing was made cuz of no protetinon
• Hobbes was 1 of the 1st to create the idea of a social contract and his was no two way street
• Hobbes social contract was you give up all of your freedom for protection
• When you agree to the contract you give all of your rights to your gov & you cant deify your gov

JHON LOCKE

• Locke believed that before gov there we ha natural rights which are life , liberty & property
• Life:refers to will fight to survive,liberty:means people want to make decisions & be as free as possible
• & property: people want to have there own things. Locke believes people are born with these rights
• In Lockes social contract wasyou give up some of for your freedom if your gov agrees to protect you as well
• In lockes contract you can rebel if you dont agree with something your gov does and you choose who leads

DEMOCERCY IS BETTER GOVERNMENT

• Democercy is better then a dictatorship because we share the power on multiple levels
• In a democracy we hve freedom and we get protection for only giving up a small percent of our freedom
• In a democracy the social contract is a 2 way street unlike dictatorship
• In a democercy we get not only prottionn from enemies but natural rights as well
• Dermocecy is better is cuz we all have power to fight for things we believe & we can choose who leads us
