• On the way back the lombard league made a wall of soldiers to block off the emporer to his man army

IN THE BATTLE

• On the morning may 29th the Lombard dispatched 700 Cavalry
• Went to reconnoiter of their northern position
• Encountered Fredrick's vanguard and had a brief battle

INTHE BATTLE

• Fredrick the first launched a full attack on Lombard lines
• Fredrick's me quickly drove the enemy knights from the field
• Dispute the imperial troops continued to gain ground

IN THE BATTLE

• Lombard Calvert was able to reform
• They returned to the field and attacked the empirical rear
• Charging through Fredrick's line and killed many of his personal guards

AFTERMATH

• His family and Ramey mourning his death.
• Several days latter he arrived out of pavia battered but alive.
• Fredrick sued for peace and negotiations begin.
• Peace between Fredrick and the pope was achieved in 1177.
• They both sighted the treaty of vence.
