A project on the city, London, England.

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

LONDON

Visiting London is always on everyone's bucket list- and it should be. The city has amazing feats of architecture, like Big Ben, and the London Eye. Many films have been shot down it's roads, from "Doctor Who" to "Harry Potter" and the new 2015 film, "Cinderella".

London is a plain land, with flat fields that stretch for miles. The river Thames runs through the center of the town, weaving here and there through many attractions. London covers 1,579 square kilometers(610 sq mi), with over seven million people residing in the town. At the least, you could say it's a popular town.

London has many attractions to visit, some more popular than others. For example, the London Eye is always a show stopper. The ferris wheel sits in the center of the city, overlooking the river below it. Another place to visit is the Kia Oval, where you could watch a game of cricket being played.

While visiting London, you can always escape to nature. Visit Hyde park, with over 4,000 trees to shade you. Or rediscover the stonehenge, the mysterious rock forms lying in a perfect circle. If seeing wildlife is your thing, take a trip to Richmond park, with over 650 free roaming deer in a thousand hectares (2,500 acres).

Theatre is always pouring into the streets of London. Grab a ticket to watch The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. Or bring your tissues to The Phantom of the Opera, a musical about a phantom that terrorises the Paris Opera, at Her Majesty's Theatre. Bringing kids along? Take them to Wicked at the Apollo Victoria, a show based on the novel by Gregory Maguire.

London's weather is always a bit on the chill side, so pack a sweater! The weather is unpredictable, so seeing people carrying umbrellas and sunglasses isn't uncommon. Just be prepared for anything.

London is split into two from the river, and a fun way to cross it is with the Emirates Air Line, a cable car that travels across the Thames. Not wanting to cross the stream? The classic black taxis and double decker buses are always available. Wanting to see the underground of London? Take the tube, a cheap way to travel fast and far.

When most people think of London, the first thing on their mind is 'posh'. Well, not all of London is. Take a street art tour and do a workshop at the Alternative London workshop. Start with a tour of East London to see some of the worlds finest street art by Banksy, ROA and Stik.

London is a city in England, and as you may know, England speaks in english. So no need to worry about trying to learn a new language, just sit back and let the words flow. Everyone you meet will speak the language, and if not, they are most likely visiting just like you!

London is a great place to try new foods. Take the Welsh rarebit for example, a chic version of cheese on toast. Or, try the Beef Wellington, a entire fillet of beef covered in pastry. And even the well known fish and chips can be bought almost anywhere.
