LONGNOSE GAR

APPEARANCE

  • Longer nose than normal gar
  • Sharp long teeth
  • Long cylindrical body
  • Hard scales ; diamond shaped
  • Females bigger than men.

Size and Weight
The Longnose gar can be as long as 5 to 6 feet and weigh as much as 50 pounds (lbs) .

HABITAT AND LIFE

  • Mud Flats
  • Weedy Quiet Freshwater
  • Lakes , Big Creeks
  • Life Span Of Gar ; 20 Years

What to Use :
Live Bait works , minnows work as well. Although the gar is hard to hook . The rope line usually gets stuck in their large long teeth.
