Why This Book is Important
This book is not only about the life of teens being influenced by the modern culture, but has much more significance. It is important because drugs have become much more common occurrence with teens. It is also important because people take other people for granted and never realize how much someone means to them till they're gone.

Themes:
The themes are death, discovering who you are and your purpose, guilt or burden, depression, troublemaking, change, and chances.

Why this book is on the list:
We believe this book is on the list because it teaches the reader a valuable lesson. No matter how much you think you know a person or what you think it's like to be them you really don't. Every person has a mind of their own and we can't control their actions.

Controversial issue:
Alaska- she left everything and everyone behind. Her actions were deadly. She hurt every one through what she did. No one ever blamed her yet she left. We wouldn't have done it.
