  • This chapter represents civilization vs being barbarians.

CHAPTER 2

  • The boys develop a system about freedom to speak.
  • They decide to kill the wild pig for food.
  • They light a fire on top of a mountain.
  • One of the young boys go missing since they burned the forest.
  • Civilization and savagery conflict in this chapter.

CHAPTER 3

  • The boys try to build huts and get meat.
  • Ralph is irritated that the huts keep falling
  • Jack keeps thinking about killing pigs.
  • Ralph and Jack become hostile to each other.
  • The conflict of Man vs Man. (Ralph vs Jack)

CHAPTER 4

  • Life on the island becomes a routine
  • The little boys are getting tormented by Roger and Maurice.
  • Jack becomes insane about killing pigs.
  • The signal fire dies off when a ship came by.
  • The boys resemble a political state. The boys are the people.
