In the movie the survivors crash landed a plane and the had a hard time getting fresh water they had little food and they could get fresh water. They had to heat up snow to get water. They did have somewhat of a shelter though.
In the book the boys are stuck on a island where a plane had crashed landed. The island was very hot and had little fresh water. They also had troubles finding food and or hunting food. They also didn't have a shelter at all and no one wanted to build one either.
I put the book as chaos/civilization because at first they tried to be civilized and mannered but it slowly trickled down to being savages. Almost everyone was acting or being like a savage, at the begging they we civilized and they only spoke when that person had a conch. Now at the end of the book they were running around basically naked and holding spears with painted faces all acting like savages even Ralph started to act like a savage.
I put this one as a them of survival for the greater good. The reason being is that at first they rationed all of there food and resources and them when they thought they were going to get rescued they went and ate all of the food. After the pay were not rescued they had to start eating the dead to survive. I believe they did this because none of them wanted to die and they all know what they had to do and they did it for the greater good.
I fell like this is just a negative feelings all together as soon as the plane crashed it was a sad depressing feeling and at the end is when it had a positive feeling.
