PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NAPOLEON

HELLO, MY NAME IS NAPOLEON BONAPARTE.

I am important because I was the ruler of France. I also helped the U.S. with needs.

The U.S. wanted to possess all of Louisiana. And the U.S. wanted possession of the port city of New Orleans near the Mississippi River. To get their crops to market farmers floated them down the Mississippi River to New Orleans.

WHAT I WANTED WAS TO SETTLE THE TERRITORY WITH TONS OF FRENCH FARMERS.

President Thomas Jefferson offered to buy Louisiana from me for $7.5 million. Then he sent James Monroe to France to buy New Orleans from me.

I then decided to sign a treaty with the U.S. Selling the Louisiana for $15 million.

The reason why I sold Louisiana to the U.S. Is because France was about to go to war with Britain. And I was afraid of losing Louisiana to British.

I impacted history today, by selling Louisiana to the U.S. and forming it into the country it is today. And it also expanded the country.
