LUCA PACIOLI

  • Luca Pacioli is commonly known as the "Father of Accounting"
  • He was born in 1445 in Sansepulcro, Tuscany.
  • He was more interested in mathematics than business, but focused on business
  • Died June 19th, 1517.

EARLY LIFE

Luca Pacioli received an education in Italian, rather than Latin. He moved to Venice to become a private tutor for a merchant's sons. This inspired him to write the first of his many textbooks.

PACIOLI'S OTHER WORKS

Pacioli is known for being the first known guide to performing card tricks. He also gave instructions on how to juggle and fire-eating. He created many mathematical puzzles which were never published. It can be found in Bologna University's archives.
