Libby day is the novels narrator and the protagonist she is the survivor of the massacre that happened in her house hold. After witnessing the murder of her two sisters and her mother she escapes out the window and testifies her brother in court. Libby was a dynamic character.

Ben day the antagonist and the one who murdered his mom and two sisters Libby days brother. Back in 1985, he was your typical teenager, rebelling against everyone, who hated his mom and her habits even though she did everything she could to help her family. He hated all of his little sisters except for Libby, He was an ignorant, idiotic teenager who was very unlikable. He was a static character.

  • Lyle is part of a fascinating kill group who solve murders.
  • Lyle is espeically interested in the Day murders and like many of the people involved in the group, does not believe that Ben committed the crimes.

REFLECTION

  • I finished this feeling unsettled. Not because the ending wasn’t satisfactory but just because it was a pretty messed up story.
  • This book kept me wondering what had happened that night until the very end. I suspected a piece of it but turns out there was so much more to the story than I ever would have figured out on my own.
