• character, intelligent ,and

• Lucas sailed for Hispaniola,
•          Spain in 1520.
• As a child his motive was that
•   he always wanted to become a
•  explorer and that's how he became one.

Route

• Lucas sailed from Hispaniola,
•    to try to start a colony, in
• South Carolina it 1520. It was
• a hard trip but finally
•        in 1521 they saw land.

Accomplishments

• Lucas found present-day
•   South Carolina and 
• Chesapeake Bay. So for 
• the first time, Lucas 
• discovered a piece of land.
