As a child, her grief-stricken father gave custody to her grandparents.

When her Mother, Clara Woolner Montgomery, died of tuburculosis when Lucy was 21 months old. (1 year and 9 months), her grief-stricken father gave custody to her grandparents who took care of her for many years. She did not live with him until 1890-1891, where she lived with her father and his new wife.

Her second child, Hugh, was stillborn, and her husband Ewan had melancholia.

She married Ewan Macdonald, a minister at a presbyterian church. Her second child, Hugh, born in 1914, was stillborn. Then her husband Ewan discovered he had melancholia, which is a mental condition marked by persistent and ill-founded fears.

But through her troubles, Montgomery kept writing no matter what.

Even though she suffered many times, her writing was always there for her, and she continued to write.

Anne of Green Gables was denied publishing every time until 1908.

Anne of Green Gables, her most famous novel, was denied publishing until 1908. When she wrote the original in 1905, not a single publishing company accepted it. Then she gave up, put it in a hatbox and forgot about it until 1907, where she tried to publish it again. Eventually it was accepted by the Boston page company in Massachusettes in 1908.

At first, people laughed at Anne of Green Gables, which is why it took three years to publish.

Anne of Green Gables was new in its own way, and publishers were not ready for the change, which was why it took three years to publish.

When her grandfather died, she worked at the post office with her grandmother, where she sent out her manuscripts.

After her grandfather died, she went to live with her grandmother again, and continued to work at the post office that her grandparents were head of. And since writing paper was expensive, she used the post office to her advantage and sent out her manuscripts.

The Anne series was never as popular as the original

Even though her books were amazing in their own way all the time, the Anne series was never as popular or best-selling as the original.

And now, Lucy Maud Montgomery stays in her true home, in PEI.

Now Lucy Maud Montgomery stays in a graveyard, close to the original site of her home. Her husband, Ewan, is buried next to her, as he died a year later.

All but one of her books stay in PEI, the place she loved most.

Now, all but one of her books are in PEI. Each year, hundreds, maybe thousands visit PEI to see Lucy's life.
