CHILDHOOD

  • Parents are Maria Magdalena and Johann van Beethoven
  • Dad was an alcoholic and it got worse when the mom died of tuberculosis at age 40.
  • Beethoven was one of 7 kids, only 3 who lived to adulthood.
  • Dad taught him how to play piano.
  • Dad was a court musicians and mom was a dour.

ADULTHOOD

  • Beethoven studied with Mozart.
  • He became fully deaf at the age 45.
  • He moved to Vienna in 1795

FUN FACTS

  • Beethoven wrote his ninth symphony while he was deaf.
  • He was single his whole life .
  • He wrote 722 songs in 45 years from when he was 12 in 1782 then his last piece in 1827 before he died in Vienna.
  • He had 60 beans in his coffee per cup and hand counted all of it.

DEAF

  • Beethoven starting realizing he was deaf when he was about 28 in 1798
  • Then he was completely deaf at the age 44 or 45
  • Even though he was deaf he still keeper writing music
  • He wrote his ninth symphony and the Missa Solemnis while deaf

Beethoven and his dad relationship was Abusive. His dad what him to be a star. Too become an amazing composer. His dad was the person who taught him how to play the piano. And when when Beethoven would mess up his dad wasn’t happy. He would beat him.

Personality
As a young man Beethoven was a frank to a point of rudeness. He was often very rude mainly because of his father’s abusing. he was also very messy and often dirty. This was a main reason he was single.

DEATH

  • Beethoven died of cirrhosis of the liver
  • He died on March 26 1827 at the age of 56
  • He was originally buried in währing
  • Then in 1888 his remains where moved to Vienna
