Beethoven's Early Life/Struggles

  • Beethoven grew up in Bonn Germany and he first performed when he was 7 years old. Studies show he had a mild case of dyslexia from this quote "Music comes to me more readily than words." By the time Beethoven was 10 he withdrew from school so he could focus on music full time.By 1784 Beethoven’s father’s alcoholism was worsening there for his father could not support his family any more from that point on. There for Beethoven in his youth (14 or 15 I’m guessing) age requested an appointment as Assistant Court Organist and was accepted which was making a salary of 150 florins (which is precisely $83.80 american dollars)

Beethoven's challenge's

  • Yes, Beethoven was known for being a deaf musician but did you know he went deaf around the age of 44! He tried to hide it the first 2 years and finally could no longer hide it. When playing the piano Beethoven banged very hard on the keys so he could hear the notes and continue to make music. Studies also show that Beethoven was able to still play the piano because he had played it for the first 30 years of his life! When Beethoven was deaf he wrote in a notebook what he wanted to say so he could still communicate.

Did anyone inspire Beethoven?

  • From what I've read Beethoven contuined for one main reason and because it was his passion. He had been playing for the first 30 years of his life. It didn't talk much about why he kept going but from what I've read this is why.

Why did Beethoven go down in history?

  • For start, he composed 9 symphonies. Also, he was deaf composing 5 of the symphonies. And he was a deaf musician! He may have only been deaf for a couple of years of his career but he still played the piano and he was deaf!

What I found intresting

  • Beethoven composed 5 symphonies out of the 9 he made deaf. He broke piano's from banging so hard trying to hear the notes.
