What Lue Gim Gong did for Florida is he made an orange that ripened in early fall, and we're not affected by the cold winter. This was intentional.
He did this because when the big freeze happened, many crops died.( Including Lue's orange trees) He felt sad and invented an orange that would not die in the winter. Lue did this in DeLand, Florida. These oranges were very useful to farmers that grow oranges because they would not have to worry about them getting damaged in the winter.🍊

Lue was brought to Florida by his adoption parent, Fannie Birlingame. She adopted him because when he went to Sunday School, she decided that he needed her help.

When Lue Gim Gong was 12, he moved to San Francisco, CA. Later on,when he was 16, he moved to Massachusetts, and met Fannie. She adopted him and then moved to her summer home in DeLand FL.
