CANCER

  • There are 340,000 cases of cancer in the United States a year.
  • Cancer would be #2 on any list of leading causes of death in America.
  • Cancer has not changed over the last 10 or 20 years it has stayed the same or increased.
  • Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in your body. Cancer will occur when the body's normal control mechanism stops working. The old cells will not die, they will grow out of control. They will continue to form new abnormal cells. The extra cells will form mass of tissue called tumors.

CANCER (CONTINUED)

  • Cancer screening is one of the most powerful tools to help you have protection against cancer. Screening tests finds cancer very early so people can get help. It can also help the patience by finding and trying to treat the abnormal changes in your cells before they turn into cancer. Right now their isn't a screening test for everyone now but their is many other options you have. For example, their are screening tests for cervical cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer.
  • By eliminating smoking or eating certain foods can help the risk of cancer less affected to you.
  • The cell cycle is the process in which cells will progress and divide and it will be found in the heart of cancer. In normal cells the cell cycle is controlled by a complex series of pathways in which the cell will grow. When it does that the cell will replicate its DNA and then will divide. If this process has any errors and they are not corrected the cells commit suicide which is called apoptosis. If cancer has a result of genetic mutations doesn't go the way it's suppose too it will result in a uncontrolled cell proliferation.
  • The larger a cell becomes the more demands the cell places on its DNA. By that it will cause the cell will have more trouble moving enough nutrients and wastes across the cell membrane .Cancer cells will not respond to the signals that regulate the growth of most cells. They will divide and form really big of cells called tumors that can damage the surrounding tissues.
  • The cell cycle is the series of events that cells go through as they grow and divide. Cancer can be considered a disease of the cell cycle because it breaks down the cell cycle. It also has some cancer cells that will not respond to the external growth regulators. But some failure to produce the internal regulators that ensure orderly growth.

LUNG CANCER AFFECTES

  • Lung cancer is mostly a disease of the elderly. In 2013, 83 percent of those living with lung cancer were 60 years of age or older
  • Lung cancer is a cancer that begins in the lungs. For example, for people who smoke, carcinogens, and also changes in the lung tissues.
  • This cancer affects the lungs and also your immune system.
  • The two top environmental causes of lung cancer are second hand smoking and air pollution . About 80% of lung cancer deaths are caused by smoking and also exposure to secondhand smoke. Air pollution greatly affects lung cancer risks . More than 10 percent of lung cancers in Europe may be secondary to air pollution. A genetic cause of lung cancer occurs when a parents has smoked throughout their life .
  • Some symptoms of lung cancer are fatigue, cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing up blood, and more.

LUNG CANCER STAGES

  • A CT scan can find small lesions in your lungs. X-rays can't detect them. For example, if you cough and your producing sputum. If look at the sputum under the microscope it can reveal the presence of lung cancer cells. It can tell you if you have lung cancer.
  • The stages and progression of lung cancer is that the person will review your pathology to confirm that you have received the right diagnosis and staging information. So they can develop a treatment plan for you. If you have had a cancer recurrence, we will perform comprehensive testing and identify a treatment approach tailored to your needs.
  • Lung cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that can start off in one or maybe even both lungs. The abnormal cells do not develop into healthy lung tissue, they divide rapidly and form tumors.
  • Lung cancer doesn't affect a certain gender more, or a certain age.
  • Lung cancer is mostly treated with chemotherapy. Surgery is only suitable if there is no sign that the cancer has spread to the lymph glands in the centre of the chest. You may also have radiotherapy to treat this type of lung cancer. The side effects for these treatments is that you can loose hair, you can get nauseas and vomit, constipation, appetite loss, and some more.
  • Immunotherapy is revolutionizing lung cancer treatment, ushering in a new era of hope for those with a disease that is the leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States in both men and women, killing more people every year than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined. So this means there is still hope. Some treatments being searched are immunotherapy.
  • There is no permanent prevention for lung cancer but you can reduce the risk of getting lung cancer by not smoking, eat fruits and vegetables, and exercise.

PREVENTION OF LUNG CANCER

  • Lung cancer their isn't really a way to prevent it but you can reduce the risk of getting it. For example, to stop smoking, don't start to smoke, avoid secondhand smoke, exercise, have a diet, avoid carcinogens, and check for radon.

TO TREAT LUNG CANCER

  • Some treatments that can help lung cancer are radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy, and immunotherapy.
  • Also by self-care, medications, surgery, medical procedure, supportive care, and specialists.
