NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI
- 1512- Arrested and tourchured.
- 1513- wrote his most famous work: The Prince.
- Wrote many other books and plays.
- 1527- Medici's loose power again.
- Machiavelli becomes papal historian and dies in 1527.
The Prince was Machiavelli's greatest works and was written to attempt to gain favor with the Medici's by writing about the Borgias. This backfired, but all ended well as he was eventually freed by Pope Leo the X and died that same year, so he never really caught a break, unless you include the numerous amounts of plays that he wrote that were filled with overtly sexual content, but nobody really acknowledges his plays because they weren't very good
