THESIS: MACHIAVELLI'S WRITINGS INFLUENCED THE STRUCTURE OF MODERN

POLOTICS
I have my statement as this because his writings have been seen helping political figures throughout history. He was a politician and studied the mechanics of polotics, stating his own view of the subject within the text of several of his many books.

"And yet, as I try to prove in this article, Jeffersons commitment to limited goverment, his advocacy of a politics and distrust, and eager embrace of species populism, his ultimate understanding of the executive power, and the intention guiding the comprehensive legislative program that he devised for Virginia make sense only when understood in terms of the new science republican polotics articulated by Machiavelli in his Discourses on Livy."
-Paul A. Rache

Explain that this qute means, and that it supports the thesis of Jefferson using Machiavelli as a political guide, and how he used his writings.

Machiavelli's "The Prince" was a book surrounding his own view of the science of politics

it contained his thoughts of the political system and how he viewed it. It also shows how he thought someone should rule, and how the term "Machiavellian" came into the world, simply because of his thoughts.

"All states, all powers, that have held and hold rule over men have been and are either republics or principalities."
-Machiavelli's "The Prince"

This quote demonstrates an example of his thoughts toward the way that a ruler should use his/her power to their own, and why they should.
