  • It's divided into primary education 6-11 years, and secondary education
  • Sub divided into junior 12-15 years and senior 16-18 years. A recent survey
  • Noted that around 1/3 of all childern in Madagascar have to access to school
  • 44% of all girls stay home instead of coming to school

CLIMATE

  • Two seasons a hot,rainy season from November to April
  • And a cooler,dry season from May to October. Thunderstorms
  • Are common during the rainy season in the central uplands. And lighting

HISTORICAL EVENTS

  • In June 1975 Lieutenant-commander Didier Ratsiraka was named head
  • Of state. Then the country was renamed the Democratic Republic of Madagascar
  • Ratsiraka was then elected a 7 year term for president. Then in 1976 Ratsiraka
  • Forms the arena party. Over the years he increased state control over the economy
  • But in 1986 he changed tack and promotes a market economy.

  • Hery Rajaaorimampianina is the president.
  • Here was 55 at the time he took office
  • He is also a former finance minister. They seen it has
  • a major step towards restoring democracy when he comes president

  • By a uncontrolled locust plague. By September it was expected to infest
