The literacy rate is 61.3%.Only 50% of the children attend school but 25% graduate.Although,the education/school is free for every and anybody.but they don not have to school as a requirment;they go by choice.

History:
Human life has been present aroud shores recently humanoid remains dating back millions of years.In the 16th century ,maravi empire was occupying most present malawi ,as well as a good portion of Zambia and Mozambique.Slowly it broke down but built back up again.
